In the Sept, 2004, Car and Driver, there's an article about SCCA Speed World Challenge Grand Touring Class. They list the Audi RS6 at 2.7 seconds 0-60. The Audi lap times were quicker than the Corvette ZO6 and the Viper Competition. The Cadillac CTS-V was a little quicker than the Audi.

    Incredible!

No way. A stock RS6? 2.7? That's ridiculously fast... really .. no way. Typo or something.
A supercar like the EB110SS had 610hp+, AWD weighed officially 1500kgs and managed 3.3 in the 0-60 ... no way!

This is the Speedvision GT car I am assuming and is not a stock RS6. It has been lightened and prepped by Champion or Audi USA for the track. I can definately beleive the time as the awd is a huge advantage off the line at the startt of all the GT races I see. By the end of the race, their tires are gone though and and Cadillac, Porsche GT3, Z06, or Viper are right behind breathing down their neck.

Uh, Zorro, did you read the actual post, or just the thread title?

"In the Sept, 2004, Car and Driver, there's an article about SCCA Speed World Challenge Grand Touring Class...."

This is the car the article's referring to.

Doh ... must be getting late, missed the racing part. That is still ridiculously fast ... 525hp, 1400kg and 2.7s? Does it have SuperGlu for tires or what? :)
