the standard (NEW)tt 3.2v6FSi Quattro is (apparently) a fantastic car to drive. ally/steel spaceframe(70:30),40:60 rear biased AWD,0-60mph in 5.6sec(DSG)... from just 250bhp. the "TT-RS";according to sources;makes anywhere between 325-380bhp from either a turbo 2.5 inline 5 or 3.6v6FSi...so let's say 0-62mph in around 5sec flat.or perhaps even between 4.8-4.5sec.... ...now,on a rainy day;would you (in your f430/f599/f575/f612) wanna be caught in it's crosshairs? I was always impressed with the original look of the TT and I like the DSG tranny technology. I just don't like the new look of the TT. Saw it in person at the NY auto show and was disappointed. JMO
There was rumours of RS version for the old TT but it never happened. Hope they really bring out a RS version this time round.
from what i heard, the mkI TT just couldn't be made to handle properly with more than 310bhp.the chassis;whilst decent for a hot-hatch like the mk4 golf gti or r32(245bhp),was never going to be as responsive and delicate as a porsche boxster S.this,IMHO;is audi resisting a quick sure-fire sales frenzy and instead keeping both customers in store for something better(the RS range has to be the pinnacle of a pseudo-supercar/gentleman's express while keeping their own reputation(and the legacy of the ur QUATTRO) intact. test drive a (still great) original rs4 and the new one and you'll see what i mean! meanwhile, audi sources have said that "if you think the b7 rs4 is spectacular; wait til you see the TT-S!" TT-S 3.6l V6 FSi quattro 340ps or 3.2l V6 FSi q 300ps TT-RS 2.5l inline 5 FSi Turbo Quattro 385ps
While my S4 was on order I drove a TT with my girlfriend when she was trying to decide on a new car... The DSG is amazing!
