Which one is the better brand and why ?
BMW because of the M1 and the M635 CSi. But Audi does have the Quattro that changed rallying all those years ago.
clearly Audi, MB quality is garbage, styling bland; BMW is just too painful to look at. If u mean real luxury, id go with a lexus.
I love BMW, and have owned models spanning 3 decades. I still adore my E38 and E24 after 5 years of owning both, and am now looking at an E31. But with Bangle they went over board. I went to seriously look at a 760Li, and really liked many aspects of it. I just could not get over the fugly look and the far too "land yacht style" interior. (I like the older driver centric interiors more) So now I am looking at Benz for my next daily. I never would have said that pre-02. Only Audis I like are the old S8s, new A8s, and really old 4800's + others from the early 80s. The rest make me yawn, fast or not.
I think each of these brands have a very different approach, and target market in mind. BMWs are the more driver-focused cars, giving the driver a better experience behind the wheel, with more communication coming in from the outside. MBs are more luxury than sport, and they're just too soft for my taste. Audis kinda blend these two together, but I don't like their design and style that much. I find it too bland. I'd vote for the Bimmer.
Uhhh, no. Crap too, if you're talking about the V8's. If Audi is in between MB and BMW for sport luxury, tossing Jaguar into the mix makes Audi more sport oriented. As "drivers cars," BMW>Audi>Jaguar>MB>Lexus. Throw Lexus into the mix and Jaguar is firmly in the middle. They don't try to excel in any particular area except styling, but mearly do all things average to well. Most everyone in this thread will lean to one of these other marques to the right or the left. Sunny
BMW Even if lately they came out with some weird designs. Overall they are more suited to my driving style than MB and Audi. MB has some beautiful cars but most are boring to drive. Audi..ughh.
Skip all three and go buy a Chrysler 300C SRT-8. Lots of sport, big, comfy car, decent quality, and a bargain price compared to the others. Heck, even the "standard" 300C Hemi is one heck of a car. And this from someone who currently drives an Audi!
Some 300C Hemi owners who also own MBs say the MBs handle twisty turns better. Thats a shame. The 300C Hemi has 2/3 of the weight in front. That is not a typo. For the same performance as the Hemi, you can buy a $10,000 inline six XJR (a 10 year old car) which handles, brakes, rides better, but gets worse gas mileage. And it comes with Connolly interior. But its not a Chrysler. Sunny
I love all 3. BMW has the smoothest-driving cars I've ever driven. They define the term "road manners". Mercedes-Benz keeps thinking up new gadgets to add to their cars, and the AMGs are extremely impressive. But if I had to pick one of the three to be my favorite, Audi would win. The RS6 comes in at number 5 on my list of favorite cars, where BMW and MBZ don't even make the top 10. Quattro is a better version of AWD than 4Matic and BMWs X-series (albeit, not by much). The old Audi Sport Quattro Coupe was a killer rally car as well.
I have never driven a Jag I liked. I don't think I'm the only one, either. I recently drove an XJR (current body), and was beginning to worry when I went to brake. The pedal felt like a sponge attached to a rubber band. Aside from which, I'm just not very comfortable in Jags. The handling of any large sedan (except the Maserati Q-Porte) on tight, twisty roads is never going to be great, and the majority of use that these cars see is stop & go in town, and interstate, and as a result, my criteria for handling differ greatly for my everyday car and my fun car.
Mercedes makes better premium cars, BMW makes better lower-end cars. I like them both, but Mercedes-Benz more. Audis look so bland, I don't like them. So, 3rd I guess.
Get ask'ed this alot and dont realy know what to recomend,i suppose working on them for so long i see the stupid stuff that fail's,dont get me wrong there are very high mileage cars that give no problem's at all, well if i had to go for one of the three id poss go for a merc,as the bm would be my second choice,no i would'nt buy a jag.
Dale, Have u ever looked at any japanese cars? boring maybe, but my father bought my mother a lexus that went 200K miles with just oil changes and no mechanical problems; can u ask more?
Yes m8 done a bit of work on these to,i find when you do have to open a engine up the alloy block/heads are of not very good quality castings, they seem to rot faster than MGB's if the coolant is neglected, all in all jap stuff aint bad but all the dash boards are taken from nissan micra's and all look the same
