I had that issue but it got tossed along with the other 12 box's full of 30yrs of car rags. One of the biggest mistakes I have ever made and they were all in mint condition aswell.

Is this "Road & Tract" you speak of a Christian Car magazine or is illiteracy "in"?

Guys give the kind gentleman a break.

I don't think illiteracy is in, just a small typo in this case.

To SilverF20C, I was making sure which cover it was. Not being sarcastic in any way.

Texasmr2, I too donated a stack of magazines to a library 18 years ago and regretted it years later. Ive managed to track down most of the ones I wanted (for reference purposes) in the end.

Saddest part Joe is that my collection of every C&D, R&T and MT for each month since 1978-2004, not exactly 30yr's now that I think about it, went into the dumpster!!! Oh well I still have the memory's of that article and the first time a 288 GTO pulled up next to me in traffic, I have never been the same and I like it!!

If the 250 & 288 were to be born-again, would classiche certify it? Hmmm

Ive posted excerpts before and will sometime again in future.

I should really scan the articles, but the task is daunting. In addition to the 13 magazines that I posted above I have 21 other magazines with dedicated GTO features!

    One day...

Joe the American magazine 'AUTOMOBILE' also did a GTO cover story. Was that the GTO delivered by Hollywood Sport Cars? As mentioned above the French covered the new Ferrari to. Best story was the ride along reported in the English magazine 'CAR' with the black cover you show, when the new owner went to the factory to pick up his GTO and then drove it home in the rain...

Another French magazine was DOSSIER AUTO No 4 FERRARI GTO 84. It covered some history of the original 250 GTO and included many pictures of the new 288 GTO. Specific mention is made of s/n 50255 shown at Ferrari France-Charles Pozzi at Levallois in May 1984. This car featured a large 'GTO' in white in the middle of the rear bumper. Just 28 pages all on the GTO and with no advertising.

    I have both.

The AUTOMOBILE mag had Dan Gurney testing Chris Vandagriff's 58335 - until local law enforcement caught up with him and asked him to STOP IT!

I focused on the English print mags...
