This is the email I sent out to all the cars on my Exotic email list. I know some of you are on it so sorry for being annoying. Come on out! A buddy of mine is taking his Ferreri out on Sunday afternoon for some fun and filming at an airstrip in North Austin. I know this is a short notice but I'm gonna join him and was hoping to get a few more cars to come out and play. I don't know technical details but it seems they have things under control and are gonna go have some fun! I'm gonna take my camera along as well but they will have a better professional camera out there for short vids. I'll be sure and get some footage of whoever wants to come out so you can see your car being naughty. Time: I don't know time for sure but probably around 1:00 or 2:00 till whenever. Directions to the old airstrip-> IH-35 North to Parmer Lane exit (take right towards HEB) on Parmer. First light is down away's and (turn left) there then look to the left and you'll see the airstrip running beside the street your on. (take first left down about 1/4 mile) then tkae another left about a block down into the entrance to the building sitting on the left corner by itself (smaller building not DELL) you can drive around front and then down to the airstrip I probably won't be checking emails this weekend so call me if any of you are interested or want more details. -Paul 633-6316

They are basically doing some filming and running the car like it should be ran. I'm sure some races may get set up but of course we need to be responsible and safe. It would be wise to bring a helmet, depending on what extremes you go to. I have never been to this airstrip so I don't really know what to expect. Come out and play it by ear. If you want to see your car on video with some aggressive driving, here's your chance. If you want to just come and enjoy watching, then you are welcome to join. I hope this bit if info helps. This is really an informal gathering where we can cut lose.
Post-Spokes events, I've seen the nincompoops that go out there and film themselves doing... well, not much other than up and down the airstrip. The bikes will go up and do wheelies, the cars will do burnouts. Not too exciting. (no offense Frog)
No offense taken. I have never been there before but think it will be cool to check it out. I heard something about bikers doing stunts at the old airport but I was assuming it was at Robert Mueler. I guess this is where they all go. I don't know.... I still think it's cool to have a spot to break lose and not have to worry if a certain law official is cruising the other dorection or something. South Mopac is fun for me and thats usually where I go play but I think there may actually be a few exotics out here this Sun so this may be interesting.
