Hi All, I have imported a 328 from the uk. It is at the VASS engineer (at great expense) who requires me to find an Australian delivered car with an ADR 37 sticker on the engine or in the engine bay. My 328 GTS is a 1987 model but I think any year will do. I need pictures of the sticker and vin number to prove the emmissions status of the original Aussie delivered car. If there is a car in Melbourne I am fully prepared to come out to you and take the pictures, if elsewhere maybe someone could email some photos? Any help would be very much appreciated. Alternitively does anyone know if there is a document that proves the emmissions status of Aussie delivered 328. The engineer just needs to compare my car with an aussie delivered car of the same period.
    Thanks

Welcome to FChat karabil. Might pay to post something in the Aussie section. There's been a lot of discussion on UK car compliance there.

The parts books show quite clearly all emission equipment and outline all the variants.

Thanks D27, I will check the Aussie section and thanks Rifledriver, I never thought the parts book would differenciate Aussie spec cras from others. What is the easiest way to source a parts book? Can I download or do I have to purchase a CD?? The main issue would be cats--but I don't think they were a part of the Aussie spec.
    Thanks again.

Maybe its toooooo late but when I brought my 308 in I encountered a lot of different needs from different "engineers" .......... have you checked with the government bodies down there to see exactly what your engineer needs to examine ?

I had a guy up here want me to get him an Aussie spec car to compare to mine for a few days , , , he seriously thought he needed my car and somebody elses for days !!!!
His reason was he wanted to extract bolts to check that they were correct grades and all kinds of rubbish ...... oh , and it was going to cost thousands !

I called QLD transport and they gave me a list of engineers that they could recommend , , , I found a handy one who did the job great.

Thanks Paul, I believe this guy is doing the right thing. Every thing else has been done, it's just the emmission control equipment that he needs to compare with a local car for the VASS engineers certificate.Just a picture of the ADR emmissions sticker cross referenced to the VIN number would do. Once I get through the VASS requirements I have the RWC to do. I know there are a number of items that I need to do including the windscreen which is pitted ("sandblasted"). Can anyone recommend some one in Melbourne and what do you think the cost should be??
    Cheers Bill
