thought i may as well add some of our less posing shots into the thread... here's goober's TR and curly's G battling for position on Glen Osmond Rd, and both cars out somewhere near Mylor i think taking off from a Leman's start (takeoff's taken by mhh and his D70) Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Great action shots.....so nice to see them being used. I love the plates on the black Gallardo, mhh you should get some custom ones on your car too.
honestly, no. it's a jaw-dropping car, but i think it will look very 2000 by next decade. the TR looks very 80's, but that for me at least is a big part of it's appeal, you'll hear many other people describe that factor as a detractor, but to me there's nothing on the TR that could be any better. the Murcielago which is similar at-a-glance for a newbie has more of a bullet aggressiveness to it and that's what people will remember... not to mention the scissor doors which are a superficial drawcard, although i'm yet to see one in the flesh (one week to go ). i think the G will be known as the more serious driver's car... Balboni's Lambo. actually what disturbs me is that i have a pic of mhh's G on my computer, and last night i was cooking dinner and i walked past my computer with the monitor on an acute angle... let me see if i can put what went through my head in pictures....
1. the pic on my desktop 2. what it looks like from an angle 3 & 4. what i thought i saw... Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
How about - "AUDI" It depends what 'effect' you want I guess, something about the car itself, or yourself or something different altogether.... Let me think some more.
i'm not a fan of 'clever' plates, for the record i've never envied a driver who had "...2NV" or "NVMY..." in their plate. having said that, the only thing that pops into my head for his car is "G SPOT"
Yasmin - before you go casting aspersions and attempt to flame me and discredit my story, I would suggest that you do YOUR homework and check YOUR facts. I shouldn't have to defend a post, submitted in good faith to further the interests of the friendly F-chatters on this list. So here are THE FACTS on the Dino - according to the current restorer, the pics you posted are indeed the Dino in question - however your pics are totally outdated and were taken a considerable time ago and long before the current restoration project. I posted 3 pics of the current Dino resto in primer state. The pics were taken at the premises of a long established and reputable restoration business known as Vintage Motor Garage Classic Car Restoration located at Central Mangrove near Gosford, NSW. I took the pics whilst visiting the premises on a group tour of classic car enthusiasts (I have no affiliation whatsoever with the business). According to the principal of the business, Jonathan Houston, the Dino was sold new in Italy, then imported to the United States by an American serviceman. The Dino was modified in the USA (F-car purists will shudder) prior to being purchased by its current owner, a wealthy Japanese businessman. The Dino was shipped from the USA to Japan but was involved in a front end ding whilst the businessman's son was driving it. The businessman then decided to have the Dino extensively restored and chose the Central Mangrove classic car business mentioned above. The reason why he chose this business to do the works was twofold - he has friends in Japan who had previous restoration works carried out by the same business on their Aston Martin and Lambo respectively and were very pleased with the results. Further, apparently there are very few classic car restoration businesses in Japan capable of carrying out classic car restorations to western standards. The Dino was subsequently shipped to Australia with instructions to maintain the modifications and add a few more to suit the Japanese businessman's whims. He flew over to Australia 3 times to oversee the restoration. The restoration is now complete and I will attach a few pics of the CURRENT restoration, circa July 2005. The classic restoration business at Gosford NSW has been in business since 1972 and carried out numerous world class restorations - 1935 Alvis class winner at Pebble Beach CA; Chrysler Imperial - class winner 3 times Michigan USA... and so on. To answer your aspersion re steering mods - the reason why the Japanese businessman kept the Dino left-hand drive and not convert to RHD is that, apparently left-hand drive exotics are considered a status symbol in Japan. Hope you enjoy wiping the egg and my alleged bull$$-t!! off your face Yasmin. vegas, I've known of this car for sometime. To add to your history; it was designed and built by Barry Watkins in the US in 1979. Constructed in alloy, fitted with a Lancia stratos 280HP engine and 5 speed Coletti gearbox etc etc. and in no doubt we are arguing about the same vehicle. In your original "spotted" note, you clearly indicate that the vehicle was to be completed in red ; "it will be painted - wait for it - RED" yet I have pics of this car taken in Nov 2004 fully painted. On that basis I believed your story to have some holes. If you'd have indicated that your pics were taken a year ago, back in august 2004 (as you , or someone did), then we wouldn't be having this heated discussion. Image Unavailable, Please Login

Ok yeah, I saw that car too. I think it's metallic dark blue though rather than flat Pozzi. I think he's a Terzini customer. Nice car.
