It was gorgeous. It's not very often you get to see something like this outside of a club event so it was a very pleasant surprise.
Thanks Ian. I knew it was a GTC, just not sure if it was a 330 or 365. I don't think I've seen it at club events before, how long ago did it leave NSW?
Mixed emotions seeing DL's car, he was a good friend and an exceedingly cleaver engineer. I remember him telling the story of him buying that car, he had a choice between it and a 275 but close the 365 because it was in better condition
Yes a canundrum however in 1977 the cars were just second hand cars that cost more than the average house.
i would love to hear about the interesting change of hands since David sold it. Would it be suitable for a public forum or best left for another time?
Thanks for sharing Graeme, I love hearing stories like this. Seeing it is one thing, but when you hear a little about its history kind of makes it come to life. We are only custodians and more often than not, these cars are still around long after we've departed, as is the case with David and many others. It's so nice that a simple picture can recall a happy memory.
not a public topic, although reasonably well known around the old Ferrari community, who are all scurrilous gossips
U know it is! Anybody who takes a F40 or similar to a public car-wash should be shot! Just saying....
My car was cleaned very well from the drive down for the GP, local car wash people did a splendid job and would go back to them in a flash
