haha...nah...he's kidding. having me in the street reduces values a lot....AND.....now there are TWO noisy ferraris in the street. what's the world coming to?
Phew, lucky PP. For a minute there,i thought you drove your 355 with your nose perched high up in the air like a snooty nosed yuppy haha. Nah,your right PP. Ill have to visit Melbourne one day,as i may have rellies there i dont know about as Melbourne has the biggest Greek community outside of Greece
well if you want to trade up for something else let me know when you wanna sell the 348. im still struggling with the idea of spending 355 money. I also rang suncorp today, but they couldnt quote properly, they needed an underwriter to go over the quote because the a 355 is over $150k
Well.................... i was only planning to keep the 348 for around 1-2 years max, then upgrade to a 355. But.................... I may keep the old girl and wait another 10 years or so and try and get a F430 when i can afford it. The 348 is really growing on me I have a massive grin from ear to ear since ive put the clutch back together! Its sooooo much fun to drive! Maybe its not worthwhile to go up to a 355?? Jump up a few models, when the money lets me do so I dont know what to do lol Thats strange about Suncorp? I did my insurance over the phone in around 20mins and paid for it by credit card straight up,in case he f*cked up the quote! It was right but, with the $50 windscreen option too Those fools!
If i do decide to sell it Looney, you are 1st on the list brother Here is a pic from the other day to wet your appetite Image Unavailable, Please Login
Allow me to preface what I'm about to say: this is only my personal opinion, and what one chooses to do with their own property is (for better or for worse) their own concern. No question, I'd return it to 100% original specification. So to white it would return. I'm a little bit confused by the market in regards to this point. I can understand if factory/original red cars command a premium come sale time, but why would one pay market price (or even a premium) for a Ferrari in a non-original colour? Doesn't the market value originality/faithful restoration? I wouldn't care if it were poo brown, if it left the factory in that shade, then that's the colour it should stay IMHO. I think it is a travesty if your old 328 has been resprayed in a non-original hue (especially if it's gone red). From the pics, it looked outstanding in Blue Chiaro, but even if it were a hideous colour, so what? If that's the colour it left the factory in, then that's the colour it should remain. Certain models from other marques may be devalued if they vary from original specification (including respray to a non-original colour). I find it a little odd that the same does not seem to apply to Ferraris.
Kudos to him for resisting the urge. Looks outstanding in blue! I forgot to mention in my previous post that I look at changing colour as the same mentality as chopping up a perfectly good Daytona coupe to make a Spider (although obviously respraying is not as drastic/permanent); people trying to turn a car into something it originally was not.
i saw a dark blue Maser QP parked on Hutt Street this morning. first time i've actually seen one. looks better than in some of the pics but then goober could have told me that.
that Meidecke is a cheeky chop fancy trying to overtake something as wide as a TR in an equally wide Pantera must have put the wind up 360C in that situation
im pretty sure thats a detomaso pantera dude http://automobile.2405.com/automobile_gallery/De_Tomaso/Pantera/1_detomaso_2405.jpg
I am largely in agreement, though I can't put my hand on my heart and say that I would respray the 275 GTB/4 in off white. Current opinion in concour circles is that you can respray a car in any "period correct" colour that was available when the car could be ordered new. I have seen the 275's in a myriad of colours at Pebble Beach in 1994. They look spectacular in many colours; but off white isn't one of them.
Hard to believe; but I was even more anal about my cars back in those days. Amazingly, the TR only got one bad chip from that episode, on the leading edge of the engine cover. More of a small dent then a chip Still, it is my favourite photo of all.
Ostensibly a Detomaso Pantera; but Mad Andy had raided his race shop and gone beserk on the old girl. She was a full group C racer under that OHOS exterior.
