Aussie Ferrari Spotters Thread??

Not a Ferrari, but I did see something rare today - a Gemballa Cayenne GT550! Its the first Gemballa of any sort I've seen......and it may have been ugly but it sure had a presence on the road.

No pics of it since I was driving behind it for awhile and he never stopped - then he floored it and I lost him. Did get pics of a yellow 99 Turbo, but its not the same.

oh yeah i saw a Rolls Royce Phantom cruising along Sir Donald Bradman Drive today, e-frickin-normous car!

 

There is a Rolls Royce Phantom in Geelong which I see quite a bit.

The front grill would be 4 foot high!

Even got to see the RR unmbrellas in the door......

 

I saw that too a while back in the same street. Who owns it?

That's Gunara's car. He bought it new in 2001 and he's only put 1200km on it since. He also has an orange Murcie, a 360 spider, a Vanquish, RangeRover, S600, and countless others that I can't keep count off. 11 or 12 at last count.
And supposedly he has an IDENTICAL collection in Indonesia or Singapore (it's been a while so I can't remember) where he spends half of the year. According to Ray Hunter (Barbagallo's manager) he's the only truly rich customer - buys all the cars on cash on the spot. Supposedly he bought the house next door to his, just to demolish it and build a huge garage to house all the cars.

 

That's Alf Barbagallo driving the Vanquish. He owns Perth Lambo, Ferrari, Maser, Lotus, Jag, Land Rover, Alfa, Audi (just sold it I think), Rover and MG (just gone out of business).

 

does he own Perth? sounds more liquid than a curry fart.

Ahh so thats him - I spoke to him for about 10mins when he came back to the car. He also recently got himself a Murcielago Roadster with the plates GUNARA1 and yesterday i saw a Cayenne Turbo with plates GUNARA7.

He is bloody young (mid 20's I would say) to own all those cars - unless the guy I met was the son or something.

 

I had a feeling he would have been the roadster's new owner.

He is in his 40's/50's from what I remember.

Both of those Dinos are owned by the same guy. The red one is for sale, if anyone's interested.

there is a yellow 355 C rego III55 around the eastern area, looks really nice, seen it on the freeway many times

 

I think he wants around $130k. Body's been done, and rebuilt engine years ago, but done almost nothing since.

 

The 360 was released in 1999. They made over 20,000 of the various types, the most of any model in Ferraris history. Since 1999, Australian Ferrari sales are 60-70 units on average. The V8 models make up around 80% of sales, so that makes roughly 400- yup FOR HUNDRED of the 360's getting around in Oz.
The biggest markets are Sydney and Melbourne by a large margin. So there are more than likely 300 in those 2 cities. Most of those are logically in the wealthy/trendy areas of those cities. Given the above, you probably should have seen more than 2 of them

I noted that in Dixon's ad in todays Age, they stated that they had "limited production slots" for 430 Coupe and Spiders. What happened to the 4yr wait list?

Also saw some figures on Lamborghini production numbers. Ferrari now make 3 times as many cars each year as there traditional competitors.
