Geez that’s not good…Hey!
I got a post deleted for calling someone an Fwit. (I don't remember who) WhoMever deleted it didn't say it wasn't true....just that I shouldn't have said it. OLIO Fair enough. I'm sure it was true though. So now I know saying STFU and fwit aren't acceptable on fchat. Funny....I say it all the time in person! In fact, I'm pretty sure I used both to Rob at GAD, understandably.
What I found interesting is that the wipers couldn't cope at 240kmh. Not a reassuring indication of quality.
I know, I’m just used to western Sydney driver etiquette which is purely guess work and chance when changing lanes [emoji12]
Madness it is [emoji51] you check your mirror, see a dot at 1 klm and at 340 he’ll be up your arse in about 15 seconds, not long really
I'm just a STC but I have done almost 100,000 kms on Autobahns. Cruise control set at 220 kms/hr at 4am when the roads were empty. Yes drivers use their mirrors, but if you are in the right lane doing 140 and you come up behind a truck doing 80, you check your left mirror, no one coming, so a few seconds later you pull out. Ooops some moron is doing 340 and he was not in the mirror a few seconds earlier. People do not expect that sort of speed. 200 to 250 yes, but not more. There are no speed limits on some Autobahns, but you still have to drive safely. You crash at 340 and kill someone, it's gaol time.
In the driver's defence, the one time there was more than one vehicle close together that he passed, he slowed down before passing them, I suspect in case one decided to pull out, he would have eyes way forward & there was long viewable distances clear ahead, frankly it didn't look dangerous to me on that road, in that car, with very few cars around, he was flashing lights as he proceeded, remember it's not in Australia amongst many drivers who drive like they obtained their licences out of corn flakes packets. I've driven lots of kms on the Autobahns & 200-250 does not seem so fast in the right car... the first burst up to 300+ in that car as he did, he passed only 3 cars to that V Max & then slowed, then went again & only passed another 3 cars, again slowing significantly as approaching cars together. IMO he knew what he was doing & wasn't crazy about it, on that section of road with that level of traffic around.
Probably correct. Lights flashing does indicate watch out, I'm going fast. And yes there were few cars. He did slow down when approaching other cars. However it is a public road and drivers need to be responsible to other road users. Plus there are visitors, especially from Eastern Europe who do not pay attention. Anyway he should go to the Ring when a club hires the place. I've been there when the Porsche club hires the circuit. A few 800+ HP cars doing hot laps. It's a lot safer.
There was a video a few years ago of a bloke in a Huracan that hit some bumps at 300kph+ - lost it in a big way. Very scary
There was a helmet cam video of a bunch of idiot bikers doing 300+ on an Autobahn. One idiot went up the inside on the emergency stopping lane to pass a motorhome. Another went on the overtaking lane until the other bloke magically reappeared from in front of the motorhome. They collided at 300+. It literally ripped the bikes and the riders apart. Ripped heads off. Ripped legs off. Incredible. The biggest part of either the bike or rider was about the size of a volleyball.
go to ORSM.COM Last time I went there (years ago) there was some person in a Testarossa in Brasil (?) crashed at 300+ ..... bits of him were scattered over a few hundred metres with one big pile of him up against the armco
