Not if they were speed rated and new. Of those michys, and you'd have to confirm with Carl, none of them were within cooee of being indate and they all had cracks along the tread.
You’re missing the point -dated tyres, Michelin or not - Chinese tyres dated or new = poorly maintained car
Well der,you know I'm talking about my ex PP car,the Michys on it would have been the one's the car was smashed up with......hmmm just had a thought Carl, did PP have 16's on it and swapped 'em after the smash??? When the car was on C/sales it came with the option of taking it with the gangsta mags and/or the originals....I wasn't interested in the gangsta and the cowboys had only had the car for no longer than 3 years while they 'fixed' it.
The tyres were the least of its problems and no secret as to what happened to the wheels/tyres following the accident. Carsales? Wasn’t it an eBay buy?? But anyway, the point is the car was left on ****ed tyres so that was an indication of what the rest of the car would be like
Dunno what you troglodytes are mincing on about. The formula is very simple. Buy the correct tyres for the car. And bin any tyre after 7 years. The end.
Nup C/S,as soon as I'd ascertained it was his I phoned the bloke and did the deal...it was someone here whom ID'd it as being Peter's.
I can tell you a funny story about that car. Garry stored it opposite my factory in Richmond. Around 2002 he drove over a sharp price of metal as he exited the factory that had fallen off a building site next door, and it pierced the sidewall. He hobbled into the factory and looking forlorn, asked if I happened to stock any 225/70-VR15 XWX. (The car had 9" rears) At that very moment, a Michelin truck turned up and unloaded 20 X 225/70-15 in front of us. I had ordered them some 11 months earlier.
You never drove it. I won't go down the line of other 308's I'd driven but it was streets ahead,as the tens of thousands of invoices showed.
Well yes but according to those whom drove behind me it was not driving crooked and it felt good except for the bushes PP had not got around to fitting.
was it not a right-off? how was it repaired ? Any photos of the damage ? My understanding was it was a serious hit to both body and unders ..
I was surprised when I saw it was repaired. It was a major hit in the rear. Surprised someone spent $50K fixing a $30K car at the time. But it looked like they did a good job with it and Klink said it was a nice car to drive afterwards.
Er, they didn’t spend $50k, more like a chain at each end and pulled as hard as they could. It wasn’t called the crab for nothing….
