I did actually, found a way just after you left, doh! all I need to do now is bleed them and it's onto the front brakes .... oh joy the brakes are so tiny that you wonder how they slow a 1410kg car down , and they do it lap after lap (10 lap stints) at QR which is very hard on brakes ... well I use them turn 1, 3, 4 and 7. A good driver would only use them on turns 3 and 7 but it would be a ballsy lap
it's not exactly a highly technical course is it... a paperclip is more complex. http://www.queenslandraceway.com.au/the_track.html http://www.queenslandraceway.com.au/track_detail.html
I was counting the double apex turn as 2, I have to turn the wheel twice so that's 2 by me or is that oversteer ??
Not sure what I'm up to this weekend I'll let you know. Unless you're need them earlier and take the gamble of getting some air in there
one-man-bleeder kits werk great. $7 bucks from roccas. or adapt a lid to fit onto the brake reservoir so it accepts a bike-pump, screw it on, crack the nipple, start pumping!
i just did my clutch with a mate last week, that took about 45 mins because of access difficulties with getting at the nipple (had to remove water reservoir and still couldn't see it with both eyes), then the procedure: crack, yell "dump it", tighten, yell "pump it", repeat until all the air was gone and fluid running cleaner. a couple years ago when i did the bleeder, a one-way valve goes into the nipple and goes through a tube into a collector with a magnet on it. whack the collector somewhere, crack the nipple, shove in the valve, go and pump it some, check the tube for air bubbles, check the reservoir for fluid level, repeat until fluid is solid and clean. total time about 5-10 mins.
You can make your own self bleeder kit JM. Use an empty 600ml coke bottle, fill it half way with new brake fluid. Drill a little hole in the top of the cap, and feed a little bit of window washer hose through to the bottom of the bottle. Then attach to your bleeder nipples, crack the bleeder, jump in the car and pump away(do around 5-10 pumps) Then tighten the nipple back up. Thats the Bush Mechanics way of doing things.
pfft.. what d'you mean "brake fluid".... detergent and water is fine.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
