Aren't we up late tonight Boys?
I just got home from work, thank you very much! BTW, I'm in for a long night... I've got six car magazines (that I've been waiting to devour) to read!
dam, i wish i got in before your multiple edits... that was the worst mess up of trying to use a smiley in interweb history!
not to be rude, well yes i am rude, but arent you from the 50's which kinda makes you an OHOS, so do u need viagra and oil to get some action happening.........oh thats right u dont use oil, graphite must hurt somewhat
as a one owner car, what is the overall condition like? is this a full on restoration or is it in good enough original condition to detail and preserve? i can see well preserved original cars being very hard to come by as opposed to over restored garage queens in the near future. what are your plans for this one? and another question - local car? looks like SA historic plates sitting on the back shelf
won't take that long. Just look at this one http://www.drive.com.au/used_cars/ferrari/330/sydney/detail.aspx?id=2834596&pg=1&pp=4&d=0&nv=1
I thought GTEs were a lot cheaper than that what is so special about that one , apart from the "special order" ?
This is a 250, but there were 250GTE's with 330 engines, called a 330 America, only built in LHD for the US market of course. A left-hook 250GTE made 82K euros at Bonhams in the UK in May. That's A$135K. A RHD car would command a premium (less made) so call it A$150K. Early V12 2+2's are in big demand in the UK these days, I think we will see strong appreciation in their values. But $275K is more than a bit rich...
Very, very expensive; but having said that you can easily bury north of $100k restoring a 1960's V12. I see Ian Gow's Daytona is for sale in the latest FCA National magazine. Price not mentioned; but no doubt a premium based on condition. I would buy that and give the Oompahloompa's a rest if I were Goober. As Sheehan says "buy the car and get the restoration for free". If you do the numbers objectively, a resto never makes sense financially.
mmm, i recall the owner of the OHOS in this gallery throwing around numbers that would melt your socks... but, of his apparently well furnished collection of classic exotica, he said the Lusso was his favourite.
Have you seen the numbers the yanks throw around for Pebble Beach restorations? Crazy, crazy figures. Even a "normal" restoration over there is in the multiple $100k US.
