Hello to all, just a quick note to let you know that we are about to start the rebuild of a Mk V Spit here in Queensland, Australia. It will be in desert guise with the volks filter under the chin, as typical of the type that served in North Africa. We are about to start to remanufacture frame 5 to 13 of the fuselage to original specs. All the volunteers are very excited and are in for the long haul to see this aeroplane fly once again. A lot of components are still to be found but as word has spread we are amazed at what has come to the surface. Some guy even contacted us and gave us a brand new supercharger saying " I always thought it was out of an industrial washing machine" can you believe it!
So as time progresses i will keep you posted, any advice and information would be greatly appreciated.
    Cheers.

LEAD ON ! LEAD ON ! I have nothing but art to contribute but I urge you on to do great things. The only painting that I have done of a Spit was a Spit Mk 1 on the leather jacket of an east Indian who was working for Airbus in Germany.

    How cool.

Please keep us posted on progress. I'm not sure how a groundbound Texan can help, but if you get an idea let me know.

Just a quick update to let you know that all the frames are nearly finished and the longerons made and the dorsal spine nearly finished. It is a long project but the boys are real enthusiasts and are in for the long haul. The amount of parts in these things is astounding, thousands met a truly unjust end at the hands of the scrappers, so quick to distroy, so long to rebuild.
    Cheers MG
