no clue as to the rest. this track was designed for us to watch. enjoy
Jim: I did a walk around and there is a good section by the stadium that is GA... but it gets pretty crowded. from turn 19 ( i think ) going clock wise around the track you can see a little but not much. we walked on Friday to the far point ( from the pits ) and you could see a little of the down hill section going on to the straight a way, but i dont think there is much GA room. its a pity they done have any GA space in the middle of the track as you could get some really good view points. I'd suggest doing the tower either early or late in the day lines get really long. from the top of the main hill on the pit straight its very crowded, and there are a lot of hospitality tents all up and down so its hard to see ... but you can grab some spaces next to the fence that give you a good vantage point ... but you have to stake these out early ... I just walked down the hilll from the Helio pad, and you could see tons of people hugging the fence line. I would also suggest the Driskill hotel bar as a place to see folks - Lotus have a Sunday dinner there in a pvt room... so good place to see team folks in the wild!
If you ever get invited to the Paddock Club - you have to go. the champers and food are great, but the access is amazing. our host let me have the Paddock pass for basically the afternoon and you could walk into almost any garage ( this was after Quali) and see what ever you like. I dont usually get start struck, but when you can see Lauda & Jackie Stewart talking, and see so many current and former F-1 drivers - its hard to not get caught up!!! not to mention some spectacular girls!!! its an amazing place to be.
...Driskill is a great place especially if you like ghosts Re; Lotus, with their current $ problems I would ask for cash up front, the W is another place for action - more "edgy" crowd though!

The Turn 2 hillside, right below the VIP Suites.....watching the 3,4 5 complex, from either side of the Grandstands. Along the main straight, beside the RV parking. Then , on T19, the large hillside there will fill up, but the real advantage is that right behind you are rest rooms and concessions! I can add some club updates, as it gets closer.
anyone know if Will Buxton is hosting another big time bash event this year? I have been the last couple years, always a good way to start off the GP weekend.
So.... has your story of how one gets "fired" from being a volunteer been posted yet my friend? Cannot make it this year to the GP. ....................... BUT I already have everything paid, ready and set for the annual pilgrimage to the Daytona 24hours race!
They just quit calling you......AND they block you out of the closed Facebook group!!! It could have been a number of things.... Derrick Bell and the Tequila girls..... Drinking with Mr. Risi owner of FoH, in the VIP Suites... Advising a Challenge driver, on tire stagger...... Helping a little old lady, and her husband, while her son was on track in his Porsche... Scouting the young girls in the Souvenier Booth, for the afterparty back downtown at C Boys... Hard to say, really....I have always been an over achiever! They caught Lady Valeria with a beer too, after our shift ..... But, SHE still gets all the invitations!! Wankers.......

Truthfully, I think it was my day job, and management expertise, that they felt was a threat. They hired all these people from the "Sports Events Industry" to run the place like it was Disneyland....and most of them would know a torque wrench for a screwdriver, if both were up their %*%&.... I have contemplated re-enrolling under an assumed name, but I doubt that would go past Orientation, even with 500 in the room.....
I'll be there in the main grandstand. Yes the turbo engines are less than exciting. It's a fun weekend and Austin is a great town.
