Just a quick heads up that we will have a Tech Session Wed the 28th of July at our shop "Moorespeed". Dave Scott will be sending out details of the event, but we will be looking at my personal Euro 308 QV that I have apart doing various repairs and mods (i.e. cam drive gear bearings, water pump rebuild, rear main seal/clutch/flywheel, 360 wheel conversion with Moton dbl adjustable shock install, etc. Dave and I thought you guys would be interested in seeing all this stuff while I'm restoring the car. We will also have Mitch Alsups 355 hooked up to the SD-2 to show how the engine parameters are displayed on the computer etc. Just a laid back time playing with F-cars. So....the session will be Wednesday, July 26th---just over 2 weeks from now. We will provide finger food & beverages, just as we have done in the past. We will convene at 6:30, and the session will begin at 7. We plan to be finished around 8:30. But we MUST know how many of you plan to show up, so we can order the correct amount of food & beverage. Please RSVP as soon as possible either to me at [email protected] or to Dave Scott at [email protected] For a map, please go to: http://moorespeed.com/contact/map/index.html Please note that the street sign for Theo off of Airport Blvd is down. So it may be easier to go to Manor road and then turn on Theo (southside of Manor). Oh, and we'll have a showing of the latest safety mods to a 355 Challenge car on display too. (rollcage, FIA seat, fuel cell, etc) thanks d Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I enjoyed going to a past tech session so I would like to attend again. More than likely my coworker, that currently has a 308 in repair stage, will be very interested in joining as well. He has been in the past too.
Prior Ferrari tech sessions at MooreSpeed: http://www.buymeaferrari.com/gallery/moorespeedtechday http://www.buymeaferrari.com/gallery/moorespeedtechday2 http://www.buymeaferrari.com/gallery/moorespeedtechday3 I'll be attending this one as well. Thanks David in advance!
Hey no problem, we love to have you guys/gals over. We are up to about 20 confirmed rsvps now. Hopefully, eveyone will show up in their F-cars for a great group shot like we did the first time. I'd love to get some good photos of anyone bringing camera. d
I think I'm gonna cancel.... I seem to have quite a bit of work piling up so I better get it done. Have fun guys!
Anyone who has not rsvp'd and still wants to come are welcome. However, PLEASE email me "DIRECT" i.e. [email protected] not "here" by 10am Wed so I can get a good final head count for Jason's Deli and beverages......and AL, it will be cold as you like ;-) Anyone have a 612 Scaglietti out there yet? I saw one at Road America and it is absolutely stunning. Unfortunately, I did not get a chance to spend much time........when do I have time at the race track ;-( David btw, check out my niece Katie on our home page at the Concours in the streets of Elkhart Lake on Friday: http://www.moorespeed.com and then the BRIC race report link under the photo. WE had 1 of about 5 Ferrari race cars running at this event of over 350 cars.....shure would be nice to get a 333SP running with us in the CanAm division......yes they are legal...........
Thanks again David for an informative session. The 355 tinkering seems to be a little deterring for the DIY'er. But that's why owners like Mitch have you to look towards with the oh-so-pretty SD2. http://www.buymeaferrari.com/gallery/moorespeedtechday4 note: I hate this camera. My other camera is being sent off to be repaired. So the pictures aren't that great.
Thank you....great photos as usual. Could you email or drop a disc in the mail for me of the untouched photos for our website update? thanks for all who came. I really enjoyed seeing all of you too. All the cars that showed up have inspired me to get mine back on the road soon. Thanks to Jim Riggs for coming down from Lubbock......great car. I really like the way the challenge wheels "woke" that 348 TS Esp up. D PS, I'll do my best to have another session again soon. So I'll get with DScott to plan accordingly.
Many thanks for your generous hospitality, David. Great session & great conversation! Al, thanks, man. I agree!!!
Thanks for hosting the Tech Session Dave, it was great. This was my first chance to meet all the Austin folks. What a great group of people. I enjoyed your story about your 308 and can't wait to see the finished project. I was doing ok without my car until I heard Dave Scott fire up his Maranello. Please hurry every chance you can on getting my TR back on the streets. Kelly
Yeah, thanks a lot! I enjoyed meeting everyone and learning a few things. I got some great pictures; I'll see about posting some up here later...
I burned all the unmodified images from each of the four sessions. Will drop in the mail tomorrow. Will - you are more than welcome to stay anytime.
Well, we're touching up a few rust pop outs.. SSSSSHHHHH....and taking care of the roof where a tree fell on it. Don't know how many prints will be left after that, but I still have the little girl that did the original ones! They want an Art Car at the Americana Art Car Festival in Nacogdoches September 3 -4, with Wayne the Train Hancock and Jim Lauderdale, then maybe the Pirelli French Quarter Classic, November 11-14, 2004 It's tough being a Ferrari Art Car, because of the rigorous party schedule! Amanda named the car "the Handyman". I call it The World's Fastest Art Car. Call it anything you like, just call us when the beer's cold! Sounds like you had a good turn out!
We had a good turnout......but we missed you driving in......there was beer left over......now I get to drink it? d Al.........no problem on helping you out. You'd be surprized how many cars we see that are damaged because they are jacked up in the wrong place. Off to ATL for the weekend to see my honey.......she loves Ferrari cars too.
