    hullo!
i will post a blog about the construction at x-plane.com in a day or so.
it will document the construction of the plane somewhat completely
the thing is all carbon fiber, and weighs about 2,000 empty, and carries about another 2,000 lb
750 hp, 350 mph cruise at 25,000 ft... it is as fun to build as it is to fly!

Congrats Austin...did you get the hanger at KCDN? I'd love to see this thing in person.

Did you look at the Epic LT or Kestrel?

Yes, I was amazed at how low tech the techniques were for getting everything centered, etc. For instance the use of plumb lines and it's like putting together a great big model airplane with glue! Does that ever bring back memories..I can smell the glue now. We will have to get Austin to get some pictures up with his blog soon.

Here is a video of the finished product:

here is the link giving all the photos and description:

-i did NOT get the hangar at KCDN... that was for a design-concept i had for a single-engine jet, and when i had the design refined and analyzed by a respected firm, the performance prediction of the jet was clear: 15 knots slower than an evolution, with a smaller cabin, and 300 miles less range. what can i say? that is NOT a good airplane! so i went with the evo instead

-kestrel is yet to be done... this is a certified plane concept.. not ready to buy yet

-epic was OUT of business at the moment i placed the order for my evo.. they are BACK in th game now, but that is a somewhat bigger airplane than i want right now

From Austin in route regarding fchat update request below. He is putting a Scud starter button in to fire the engine.

    "hi man!
i cant log in to answer the q... i am travelling in oregon and dont have the login info handy
but, it flew yesterday, and flew great
the test pilot said that it is louder and has a much more aggressive growl from the prop than a regular evo (this one has a much different engine) and he saw only 75% rpm and 40% power on that flight!"
