    Got back from Tassie a few hours ago, and drove past “The Bend” on the way back.

    Would be interested to hear the thoughts of those who drove it.

    Slightly off topic (and I wonder if there should be a “holiday” thread after seeing Ian’s cool pics and those I’ll post later) but driving around Tassie for the first time was amazing - IMO the most naturally spectacular and beautiful region in the country, with the best roads, least traffic, best food, least traffic police, etc.

    I know that, and the Targa Tassie would be great.

    Having said that, a lot of the time on the roads we did it was virtually like they were closed anyway.
    I can’t understand why that place isn’t promoted as the driving / riding Mecca of the Southern Hemisphere.
    Absolutely craps on many of the more famous driving roads in Oz which when you make the effort to go are actually just clogged with speed cameras and caravans anyway.

    Now that I think of it, as I had to travel through the SRV (Socialist Republic of Victoria) I wonder how many fines I have coming my way for going 1kmh over the limit...
