I stumbled across this ebay seller and the many items he has for sale on ebay: f1-247 | eBay I'm stunned at the variety and multitude of the items for sale plus the incredibly low bargain prices. The seller has a top-notch ebay rating, so he doesn't look to be a scam artist at all. How come somebody has access to all this stuff and suddenly sells it at these low prices and how come not many folks are bidding on this? Am I missing here something? Would love to hear some comments (other than "ebay-fleabay"). And no, I have zero affiliation with this seller, not doing this to give him exposure/sales. PS: Personally I thought the Ferrari exhaust at $ 245 was stunning. Buy such an item at the Ferrari store in Maranello and be prepared to pay ten times that amount. If it even is on sale.
Well, it's all Williams and Red Bull stuff, not the most desirable (imo). That header is about the only thing in there I'd really be interested in, and even then it would just be something to hang on the wall with little context - and it's not like it was in a Ferrari car. I have a set of exhaust manifolds hanging on my wall already - and they were actually installed in a Ferrari car!
I hear and understand what you are saying but here is the rub: These prices are super low also compared to non Ferrari F1 stuff. I was once looking at some X-mas sale by the Sauber team and the prices were astronomically. Also on ebay there is another guy selling HRT (remember them?) F1 stuff and it also about ten times the prices seen here. My problem is more that I'm running out of space to display stuff, so I can't just go there and buy it all. Oh well.
I've looked at a few of those over the years. Aren't many of the items supposedly "limited edition", "mounted and prepared" etc and include "certificates of authenticity" and that kind of stuff? Certainly looks legit to me, but we're half a world away...... Cheers, Ian
It does appear to be cheap bargains to be had. My cousin works with a top pop come rock star musician, and he often throws stuff his way like this, and he often says, oh well I'll cash em in when times get tough or when I retire. Maybe a bit of the same case here.
The collector on the V10 header is just so much bigger than the one on the V8... the 10s were really insane in comparison. It's easy to forget how awesome it was. Thanks for the link... now I'm trying to keep myself away from my credit card.
They are not exactly limited editions and with the news he has signed for Lotus for 2014, it sounds like they will still be in production!
