    Is this a breakaway? I work in a psych hospital and we need lanyards than breakaway when pulled for obvious reasons

    It is a breakaway and does so 3/4 of the way down the lanyard at that circular button. I must admit that it isn't a "quick release" but it does unclip quite easy.
