I've been curious about how much more Authorized Ferrari Dealers charge for pre-owned cars vs independent dealers. I had always assumed there was a fairly sizeable 'tax' for buying from a Authorized dealer. I've been tracking listings on a number of different sites for the last 6 months or so, and have been surprised to find that generally there isn't much difference between the Authorized dealers and Independent ones. One thing I noticed is that the 296s are significantly cheaper at Independents. I imagine this is mostly because the Ferrari dealers are less willing to advertise (or even admit) that the cars have depreciated as much as they have.
Note that this is not an average price, its an estimation based on a model of how much a car with average options, average miles and age would be listed for. The goal was to eliminated any difference if Ferrari dealers tend to have higher spec cars. Also I wouldn't put alot of stock in the 458 Italia numbers as there aren't a ton of them sold at Ferrari dealers anymore.

I think you need to account for bargaining margins

I agree, unfortunately there isn't any way to get that data. The next best thing though is the Bring a Trailer results, which I added as a black line below:

I did include the buyers fees in the BaT model, and I also included the reserve not met cars as well. My assumption is that even if the reserve wasn't met that is still a good indication of the market value of the car. I think the BaT results are probably a bit on the low side though as a fair number of 'story' cars show up on BaT. Also for some of the models there aren't many auctions, so the values should be taken with a grain of salt.

Well, the dealer can CPO a car which an independent can't do, and that is worth something. And I guess there is some cache with the dealer to get on his priority list for future models. Besides that, the market is the market.
