    Does anyone have any feedback on a repair shop called Auto Centro in Rockville, MD? The principal is a gentleman named Paolo Docouto, whom I believe also operates the Drivers Vault storage facility in Rockville. THANKS!

    I actually live in Rockville and have heard about Paulo (he is close with Randy from the Savage Garage YouTube channel) but I’m not familiar with the work at Auto Centro. It is quite close to my house and in an industrial area with tons of independent repair shops, but they seem to have a low profile. What kind of car are you looking to have serviced?

    Thanks! Here's the short version of the (much longer) story:
    I've been negotiating the purchase of a local Ferrari via a nearby broker, and struck a deal contingent on a PPI performed by a reputable local independent specialist shop. The PPI revealed some previously unknown mechanical issues (current owner bought the car sight-unseen via BaT about 14-15 months ago, and it's barely been driven since), and the estimated repair costs are significant. In an effort to salvage the deal, the broker suggested getting a second opinion on the repair costs, and favors using Auto Centro. He candidly acknowledged that Paolo is a friend, so with that in mind I'd like to evaluate how much credence to lend his opinion/estimate.
    BTW, the other well-regarded local independent shop doesn't seem interested in doing a PPI, and I've already paid for one, so . . .
    Any additional insight on Auto Centro would be much appreciated- thanks again!
