Auto dimming mirrors on F8, how to disable?

The auto-dimming mirrors in your F8 Spider can't be manually turned off they're controlled by light sensors (likely in the rearview mirror). Your radar detector might be blocking the sensor, causing excessive dimming. Try repositioning it to see if that helps. If not, check with Ferrari if they can disable it via software, but most owners just live with it. Tinted windows + dimmed mirrors do make visibility tough at night.

 

If you can get the actual rearview mirror opened and apart, there is a 4 pin plug with a green, black and red wire to the motherboard. Inside the mirror. On the 458, there is a button on the bottom of the mirror that turned on or off the electrochromic dimming of the mirrors. If no button, your best bet is to unplug the aforementioned plug to disable the mirror dimming. I don't know if it will introduce an error message, but on my 458, it disabled the mirrors by removing the plug. I suspect that the mirrors are much the same on your car but can't be sure. GLWT.
