    I need to buy a racing helmet and suit, there are plenty of online shops but I really need to try these things before I buy them... and all the online shops have physical locations that are hundreds of miles away.

    So - can anyone recommend a good auto racing accessories and apparel shop in Chicagoland?

    I second Northstar in Barrington. Both Ruthers are very helpful and have a great selection. (I even got my kids Recaro car seat there).
