    Hi, all-

With great weather nearly all weekend, I took my 400i on a quick Easter trip home to Michigan from Virginia. With the new TRX tires installed and a fresh oil change, the car was a pleasure to drive.

I've got the week off, and hope to tend to a few other maintenance items on the car, including brake pads and transmission fluid/filter. I chose to go with the Porterfield R4-S pads, but the transmission gasket and filter are a bit of a problem, because the filter doesn't seem to be in stock locally as a Ferrari part.

As with the pads, I imagine that there are cross-reference parts for the transmission filter and pan gasket... can anyone verify? If so, which of the Hydramatics is it a match to?

Thanks in advance for any info,

    Bret

Tranny is a GM Turbo 400, the gasket should be availible at any GM dealership or transmission shop.

I had my 400 Turbo tranny re-built several years back, and was told by a master rebuilder, that the trannies in our cars a totally generic except for the tail housing.. You can find your parts anywhere.. Filter and gasket $20USD. My total rebuild, including a new torque converter and street shift kit $850USD..the shift kit absolutely transformed performance and boosted my gas milage by at least 2 MPG..I hope that this is of some value to you. Jacques.
