Does anyone know of a reliable and reasonably priced transport company for a car to be moved from Minnesota to Miami?

I called Exotic Auto in Orlando (I used them before), but they want $1,500 to Orlando and $1,700 to Miami. If possible, I would like to find someone that would do it for less.

Wasn't there some private guy who had an enclosed trailer that does this???

If the difference is less than $300-$400, I would still suggest using someone as reliable as Exotic over someone that has a single car enclosed trailer. Especially if this for an expensive car, just not worth the gamble to save a few dollars.

I have used Exotic, they are well insured, great equipment that they design and sell to other transport companies, and they aren't going anywhere. When we had the Morgan Adams Concours our biggest car contributor used Exotic to bring 8 cars up from Miami to Boca, and return.

Yeh, they are a good transporter. I used them for my CS. However, I would like to know if there are any other options that may be less expensive.

I've used Intercity in the past but as it's been said, if it's an expensive vehicle and the price difference is minimal, go with the tried and trusted, reputable company.

    Thanks,

What are you shipping? If it is a regular car, just use an open transport.

The intent of this thread is to find alternative reputable shipping companies other than the one I know of, not to debate the merits of enclosed vs open or how much is worth saving.

I believe that Dado might do car transport...message TMINUS about it, I've lost my link to his site. I believe he uses a Peterbuilt tractor and a Racelite enclosed trailer....but i dont know if MN is to far in the Mid West for him....(Maryland guy).

If it is some crappy old Camaro that you are buying use an open carrier. $600

If it is something valuable with low clearance I can see what I can do through the dealer network.

No, not a Camaro....LOL (you sukkk).

It needs an enclosed trailer, low clearance. From Minneapolis MN to Ft Lauderdale FL. See what you can do. Pick up mid to end of next week.

If you want to hear of viable alternatives, it would help to know what you are shipping. It all boils down to the value of what you are shipping, not merely whether it is cheaper to use open or enclosed transport. Example, if I were to buy an F40, no way I would use a single car hauler or an open trailer. I know that Exotic designs and builds the interior lift systems for most all of the major transport companies, they know what they are doing, to save a few hundred dollars on a $450,000 car would be silly. On the other hand, if you are shipping the yet to be restored Camaro that Martin mentioned, just find someone whose address is not their license plate.

If you want to find more alternatives, buy a current issue of Hemmings. There is an entire classified section for auto transport, from single car haulers to the major transporters.

Ive had good results with Intercity, you get the phone number of the driver transporting your car and they constantly keep you updated. It cost me 1300.00 to ship from California to Miami. Of course thats probably more than the Ferrari you are shipping is worth :)

Not true, I told you in post #2 that Exotic out of Orlando was the best choice. I used them as does Fux. They design and build the equipment most of the other companies mentioned in this thread use.

    Exotic. Exotic. Orlando.

    Fred: check out DASAUTOSHIPPERS.com

they allow you to GPS track the vehicle, every mile.

I shipped the Camaro from California. They're not CHEAP, so don't think about getting a bargain with these guys. I know you like get bargains.

PS: The company, COUNTRYWIDE from Oklahoma that shipped the Camaro to Texas, damaged the front valence! Don't use those boneheads.

I just used Exotic Car Transport to ship my 360 from MD to FL and back. I will definitely use them again (they charged HALF of my estimates from Horseless Carriage and Intercity). The driver was very familiar with a 360 F1 and was very professional.

Fred bought a new car up there today and will use the tranport co that I got through the dealer network. They are picking up tomorrow and are less expensive that all the others.

Is the company that has the driver that wears an eye patch on his right eye? He has trouble judging where the road shoulder is at night. Not to worry, they are insured.
