I am looking to transport a Ferrari from So. Florida to So. Cal. I have read a lot of horror stories on FChat regarding auto shipping. I would like some recommendations for a trusted transportation company--first hand experience would be preferable (enclosed trailer).

I've used Exotic Transport based out of Orlando area (big yellow trucks) several times to ship to/from West Coast. Has been uneventful.

I posted earlier about lots of problems I had with a company shipping my car East (NTT Transport - Go2 Transportation). There are some useful tips on the post of general value, in my opinion.

I did read your posts in another thread about your transport problems. It was very informative. Prior to reading your thread, I had mistakenly assumed that transporters were all the same. It is your story that has me doing my homework. thx

Try Reliable they've got an Orlando office. They have 350 trucks I think it is. Never used them but they're top notch.

I have read numerous other posts about transporting Ferraris and here are the companies that are recommended repeatedly by various FChat posts:

    JP Logistics
    Intercity
    Reliable
    Passport/FedEx
    Exotic Transport
    Whitehorse Auto Concierge

If anybody has had a bad experience with one of these shippers, or thinks I should add a company, please let me know. I believe that this a sufficient list of potential shippers, just want to make sure that there were no bad FChat experiences with any of the above. Thanks for your comments.

That's a good list. I'd start calling and see who can pick up and deliver the soonest at a competitive price.

Check with Horseless Carriage. When I was with FoDallas they were the company that delivered all our new Ferrari's to us from New Jersey.....When we did not use our own race transporters to move our own inventory between Houston and Dallas we used them for that purpose also. We never had a problem at all during the time I was with Ferrari.......

And here is link to get an online quote from them.....

Another + for Intercity is that they are an Fchat sponsor.

JP and Reliable have both been good. Matt (White Horse) is a good friend of mine, but he doesn't go further west than the Mississippi.

Exotic in Orlando did the best job of the 3 I have used. none of them damaged the car, but Reliable was told not to deliver during the 2 weeks I would be out of town. First day in Indy I get a call my car will arrive the next day.

My house is not accessable for big trucks so the driver has to be met elsewhere. Lucky a friend was available to help my wife pick up the car.

Had a small delivery window with Exotic and they hit it right on the money

FWIW - once you identify who you think is a very good carrier, I'd suggest you worry less about cost/timing and more about getting who you feel comfortable with. I made that mistake. I chose a carrier recently that was a bit cheaper and quicker, however I spent 2 months of time fighting with them to replace my scuffed wheels.

Haha, I actually just got off the phone with him and he is now doing a couple coast to coast runs. I was glad to hear he's able to expand.

Bottom line on transport ... yes, I've learned the hard way, with bruises accumulated over years:

Spend the money on someone who cares.

Appreciate the kind words by so many. We treat our clientele and the cars that they own like they are our very own. We understand how much these cars mean to you gents (and ladies) and we work to show you that we care every time we provide a service to you.

    Regards,
    Matt B

I have personal experience with several transporters, and nobody will do a better job or give more personal service than Matt Brown of White Horse Auto Concierge. Give him a call and he will be happy to chat on the phone.

they have a web site; ask for Kevn Dudley and use my name, he has moved cars for me from California to Georgia; Illinois to Georgia and all in between;my Lotus from CAli,twoJgas from Cali, A jag from Chicago, and some motorcycles too. his guy actually picked up a Porsche for my brother in DOWNTOWN,NEW YORK CITY! and got the trailer in there and back to ATlanta. The key is his drivers are all small enlcosed trailers; it usually has been ONLY my car or one more on the carrier; so no risk of moving them on and off, h is a little higher I think BUT I never had a claim! dogdoc( PM me for my full name, info

If it has to be done right, I would go with Intercity Lines. I have used them for multiple cross country shipments of exotics/track cars and have always had stellar customer service and my car delivered exactly as it was picked up.
