I did a quick search in the forum for "storage" and didn't come up with anything, so I apologize if this is a redundant thread.

Does anybody have any experience storing their car at Auto Vault Canada (http://www.autovaultcanada.com/index.html) ?

If not, any other recommendations for good, secure storage facilities in the Toronto area?

    Thanks.

i went to one of there storage facilities last month to look at a car someone was selling, nothing special just an underground parking lot, with cameras, cars all dusty, flat tires, if you have a car cover and remove the tires, or get those things for flat spots you should be ok, the location is so random with NO signs that no one would ever know that your car is in there, but for $279 or whatever, we do the same thing for $150.

$150 out here in Calgary also......but it's secured, underground parking that is alarmed and with manpower there 24 hours a day....etc.....

$150.00 is VERY cheap. The price of $269.00 is actually not off from other places. (Not saying it's cheap either).

I can't remember which one it is but The Guild Of Automotive Restorers or Bramhall Classic always advertises storage for rent. If I am not mistaken they were asking $200.00. Both looong time auto places.

The owner of the Vault used to be an employee of Grand Touring. I thought it was a cool concept. They even store wheel packages.

    Hope this helps.

I met one of the main investors/owners of the Auto Vault venture, he mentioned that it was one of the first of its kind in the area (dont know about that)
He also said that pretty soon, they will have each spot hooked up with a webcamera for which the owner can see his car at anytime through the internet. Overkill? Probably

He also mentioned that a few dealerships from the downtown area store their cars there to save on the inventory space needed, so they are making quite a decent profit.

Apparently he got the idea when he was in NY and it is supposed to be big there.

On a last note, the company also does the same thing for Rims and tires?? I'm not sure how hight that idea will fly

BMW Z1, very cool car, doors descend "into" the car, so you can drive with the doors down and the roof off, kinda like a tj,yj jeep.

Yes Rick. These have been around for years in Europe and other areas. The couple that are around Canada were brought in. These were SUPER expensive. The owner of a Yorkville boutique (now closed) used to cruise around Yorkville with his. He had plates from somewhere in the Middle East still on the car until finally Ontario plates.

It looks like the one James has. James how much for that thing? Those things were ahead of their time.
