    Hey guys,

I had some questions about Autobahn CC. It seems like many of you track your cars. Do you have memberships? If you have a membership, can you just head down there basically anytime and get on the track? What about those without; how often can you get on the track (i'm assuming by paying a fee)?

Are saturdays/sundays usually reserved for open days or members?

Any other info on Autobahn CC and the membership would be appreciated.

(I told my wife my plans to buy an F car to track it and she said, "You're willing to pay 300k to drive a car around some windy roads???")

If you're not a member, you can either go down there with a friend who is a member up to 2 times per year or you can go with one of the groups that rent time on the track. If you're planning on going around 10 times a year, I can strongly recommend joining LAPS. It's $3,500 for the year and you can sign up at http://www.lapsincorporated.com/. Besides getting time on the track, you get to have a blast with the people down there. Really good group of drivers and a bunch of fun.

There are also one-off engagements with groups like NASA (http://www.nasamidwest.com/). They usually go to Autobahn once or twice per year and you pay just for the one weekend. I seem to remember it's something like $250 for the weekend.

If you're planning on buying a Ferrari with warranty to take it to the track, though, I'd be very careful where you buy it from. I got royally ****ed last year when I did just that (http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthread.php?t=225357). Ended up selling the Ferrari after less than a month with a big repair bill and a loss because of it. But different dealers have different policies it seems. Just make absolutely sure you know what you're getting into and with whom.

Autobahn is a great track, though. You'll have a ton of fun. If you end up liking it a lot, the full membership is $35,000 and allows you to go down at almost any time and have a blast. I just joined this year with Team Stradale after doing LAPS last year and one-offs the year before. It's very addictive.

Track opens for the season on April 1 and stays open until Oct 31. Members can use the track from 9am to 5pm everyday except Monday, track is closed for lunch noon to 1pm. Call the track and tell them you are interested, go there and ask for a ride around the track. Also if you join, for a small fee, you can get expert instruction from one of their two seasoned instructors. Highly recommend instruction even if you have tons of experience, learn the track and different lines much quicker. I have been a member since it opened, post or pm if you have any questions.
