Great video. Thank you for posting. Look at the right hander at 7:41. It is perfection. As for the cameraman on the right at 7:35, they could not pay me enough to do that.
Looks epic but that last sentence worried me: ''It's just to easy to drive''. Yes he says it's just enjoyment but I don't think I would as much. Sounds so much better than a normal 458 though, damn. If only they did something about the front bumper. Still don't understand it, aerodynamic or not...it's hideous. Probably not for me (I'd go with a CS and manual LP640 for the same money), but can see the point for others.
I'd say this comment just about sums up that video: "Tested to the limit?" = a minor slide around the same corner over and over again? Come on Autocar - try harder or at least give your videos a more accurate title.
Great review...and video is amazing! Can we just keep it at comments related to the review instead of saying "it's ugly" and stuff like that?
I love it. Wonder how much of those Speciale genes will be in the 458 replacement. Thanks for posting.
I'm looking forward to the first honest comparison with the 458 Italia. Regarding the video: nice, but is the Speciale really so poorly designed that it drifts in almost every corner? So the car will never reach record times!
Compared to the Italia, you can see a difference in cornering response and attitude. Looks sharper and flatter. Not sure I can hear the quicker downshift blips/shifts, but I'll take their word on it. Its looks are growing on me, too. Should be a heck of a car.
Looks like a brilliant drive as expected and bodes well for any cars coming out of Maranellos, but I would still stick with the standard car. I look forward to driving it, but am sure I will be happy to get back into my car. I like carpet except in a full track car.
Ugly on the outside and the inside compared to the standard car. Only cool thing is that SSC or whatever the traction control is called. Car probably looks better in a solid color then that strange stripe. Standard car much more classy. I can't seem to tell a difference in the exhaust note?
I think it's slightly better looking. I do like the new slip angle feature. What will be interesting is if it will have the rawness of the past two special editions (the CS and Scuderia). My feeling is -- it won't.
I often read people not enjoying this front bumper - it's fantastic however! So much more aggressive and imposing than the Italia - it means business now. Having seen it in person I can throughly reassure you that for the nature of the ca that the Speciale is - it really suits it.
