I headed west bound this morning to Mineral Wells airport for some auto crossing fun. I was going to help out the SCCA event @ TMS but after dealing the BS from the race officials on Saturday, I wanted to enjoy myself.

The event was hosted by Equipe Rapide, all I have to say is what a course. I had a blast driving it but it was a lot longer than I expected. The average laps started 1.18.XXX but times were much fast as the day went on. My best was 1.15.077 (not that great at all, but gotta keep at it) I saw many times being dropped under 109.XXX. Think the best over all was a BMW M3 with 98.XXX. Unreal! I was still getting into third gear but kept screwing up on my shifting & my drive line. For anyone running auto cross with Falken Azenis, bring a large spray bottle of water to keep them cool, when these tires get hot, they get very greasy. Also, check your tire pressure because midday my hot tire pressure increased by 4 lbs. Lots of loose gravel out there but still maintained my grip even though there was some grass & dirt growing through the concrete. This was much better than the SCCA events like at Fairington Field, but Rob was right about this course, it will eat your tires. Thank God Azenis are cheap & I must get a faster time for the next event. Looking forward to the next event!

    :D
