Toni is a small but highly respected repair shop in Maranello. It is on the main street that th Ferrari factory is on, about 100 yds heading out of Maranello from Ferrari, and on the opposite side of the street. The shop is usually working on a lot of older and classic cars, and is a real throwback to the true mechanic's shop. Very little to no English is spoken there.

I visited Toni's several times in the 70s so they have been around for a while. Toni Sr. worked at Ferrari and I gather they sent him stuff they did not want to get involved in before Classiche. It is probably run by the son now (whom I met) due to elapsed time. English was not spoken. It struck me as a smaller version of Gianni DiAnna's operation.

Furhther to my previous post. I did buy parts from Toni on a couple of occasions (went there with a fistful of Lira) and it was a good experience. Price was a little high but you cant be choosy when dealing with unobtainium. DiAnna would not sell parts as he needed them for his work.

guys, many thanks again. these are great info. will definitely pay them a visit though i don't have a blond female with me... anyway, on a more serious topic, would i be able to find any "right hand drive" vintage ferrari there for sale? i know your next question is which models right? think the closest thing i can afford is probably a bumper of a 246 dino or daytona... but am serious about looking into a classiche ferrari (or any model before bb512 boxer/308 days...).

In my 2 plus years living in Rome, I dont recall ever seeing a private ad for a Ferrari. I think the political climate (big underground economy, lots of car thieves) prohibits it, Best bets are Dealers and specialty repair shops.

Best bet for RHD is the UK.
