Most everyone on this forum recognize GTM&Sons in the upstate and Karl Troy at ERR in Charleston as the premier indy shops in the Carolinas. To that list I would like to add Automotive International in Charlotte. I took my 246 GT Dino there for auction prep and representation on BaT. The prep took about 3 months and absolutely nothing was overlooked. The car was breathtaking as it was listed in BaT. The marketing side of the equation was just as positive. Good ad copy, professional photos. Intimate knowledge of the inner-workings of BaT and constant attention to the comment section at BaT. They handled the paperwork, delivery of the car and all the financial stuff within 7 days of the end of the auction. The car sold Thursday and I have the cash in my checking account today, Wednesday . Just remarkable. I cannot say enough positive things about Peter (owner), Glenn (sales), Sean and Mike (mechanics) and Freddy (body shop). Karen, the office manager was “the glue that held it all together”. Just an outstanding experience. ….And no, I’m not getting a kick back nor will I ever require their services again since I am now officially out of the Exotic Car biz!
They are terrific. I would also add that they work on specialty vehicles beyond Ferrari. They perform services on my Icon FJ40 and my 2005 Ford GT. They are top notch. Service with confidence.
They could not help my xke or my 230sl…or just didn’t want to..I think they considered them too far gone..so I let then go too. It was a package deal…take them both or walk. The guy, thankfully took them both..he loved the jag,the 113 was anther story side of the coin thing…gonna need a lotta work. It’s in RDU..if anybody is looking for a 230. But lottsa work required..lottsa. It’s not mine,no mo.
We have stopped working on many makes and models that we did service in the past. It was an important strategic business decision to give our focus and energy toward Ferrari, RR and Bentley. If we could find more qualified techs we would service more models but with limited support in the repair world for these cars focus and depth of knowledge is critical to efficiently and effectively perform a repair or service. So if you know excellent techs who want to live in Charlotte let them know we are always looking.
or in the Triangle. We'd be happy to have you open a second shop here Peter. And pardon me for saying again how much I miss terry meeler.
