Nice pics Tony, I must apoligise, You mentioned that the engine was that of the 360...I tend to remember making referance to some other V8 Ferrari.. What a plonker...Even I can see the engine is from the 360 ...DOH!! Sorry mate..
Tony, Nice pictures - I'm interested what the car is with the number 50 on the post? Very rare to see something I don't recognise - Is it some sort of British low vol car like an Ascari? Dan
It's a Farboud, from a company started by an individual named Arash Farboud. His family was in the pharmaceutical business and funded his dream of making his own supercar. The first one was a replica of a Porsche GT1. Porsche frowned upon that, so this is their next product. It's almost production ready. The company is quite close to Lotus headquarters, employs quite a few ex-Lotus folks, and I believe there's quite a bit of Lotus influence in looks and handling. It is an expensive car. http://www.farboud.com/
Biggest dissapointment of the day for me was Lambo Gallardo....the car looks out of proportion and very short and squat.....anyone else seen it in the metal and have a view? Tony
Many thanks for posting the pics, tonyh. Now when I just saw your pics, I really would like to go, but unfortunatly I'm in my exams :-(
Thanks tvrfreak, I had seen the original GT1-alike car, but this one is new to me. Being in the US I don't get as many of the UK car-mags as I used to :-( Went to the site, looks like they spent a lot on flash on their website, normally a sign that they haven't sold very many of the product in question. Looks smart mind you, but its an "out there" selection, esp with 580 bhp from 2.8 litres
Tony, greats pics and thanks for posting them. I really am getting all excited about going tomorow ... and of couse there is the drive up there and back as I havent driven the 355 since Virginal water 3 weeks ago. I have only put 350 miles on it since I bought it so I guess I'll double that tomorow. Cheers Philip
Man, those are great pics. That is the kind of autoshow that I have always wanted to attend. The unpainted Carbon Zonda looks the business.
Yeh, ive seen a yellow one in the flesh. Sat in it too Inside it is very spacious, with a long distance between steering wheel and bottom of windscreen. Very poor luggage areas though. Outside i agree with you. It is a bit out of proportion in my view. The overall look of the car has grown on me but the rear just doesn't do anything for me It is a short car, thats the reason they couldn't include scissor doors as it would add around 8-9inches to the cars length. As such it should be the perfect B-Road car! (they're the UK's countryroads for our American friends). It would have been a superb £60k car but at £115k the looks just don't justify the expense. Anyone fancy lending me the keys and I'll let you know how it drives
Markr, belive it or not , the Zonda was metallic black, thou' it does look like carbon fibre. The two small wings at back were carbon. Tony
