I think a good portion of this article is wrong, but that remains to be seen. I do not believe there is any way Ferrari would introduce a new car with a Maranello derived engine and old 6 speed F1 transaxle, even if both were updated for the OTO. We shall see.

Emmmm.. so they say this is not a 612 replacement but a concept. Then why would they test a concept on the road?

    I think they don´t have a clue.

If I understand correctly the production of the 612 Scaglietti has already stopped and the replacement is already finished. I can understand they will do the following.

    Geneva 2011
Ferrari will introduce a concept car which is based on the current 612 Scaglietti. The purpose of this car will be to find out if "the public" (and customers) like the idea of a "shooting break/brake". The car will never enter production

    Frankfurt 2011
Ferrari will show the 612 replacement which is not really a shooting break. I will be quite 'normal' styled. And I remember that Luca said in an interview the "Scaglietti" family might have multiple models in the future. So maybe in a few years time Ferrari might introduce a shooting brake version of the new 612 (F151).

    .

"This is the first concept produced at Ferrari since it cut ties to longtime design house Pininfarina in favor of complete in-house styling overseen by Lorenzo Ramaciotti, Fiat's design boss and the former head designer of Pininfarina."

    I don't get it.

533hp @ 434ft.lbs? The same gearbox, the same chassis, and they say it's unlikely to make it into production?

    Uuuuuuuuh.

That article is so far off its amazing. The shooting brake 612 replacement has already been seen by many Ferrari customers. The shooting brake (612 replacement) is all wheel drive, has a dual clutch gearbox, and has a much more powerful engine than the 612. There is no way Ferrari would introduce a new car or a "concept car" with a "traditional" F1 gearbox at this point.

Sounds like a re-hash of story published by AutoExpress (?) and already posted here:

Ferrari have their own chief designer, Flavio Manzoni (ex-VW and formerly Lancia), so the FIAT connection sounds a bit far-fetched.

The concept car theory sounds interesting, but why do a concept car with old technology?

As for multiple models of the Scaglietti, I also commented previously on the LdM interview but I think that they could do the shooting-brake first and then revert to a "standard" coupe. LdM interview link here:
