Looking into the functioning of my aux air valve.( 84 Mondi QV) I was doing some vacuum testing, when I realized the aux air valve did not close all the way when fully warmed (is it suppose to?) Pulled strong vacuum at full warm temps. Once I removed the valve for inspection I noticed the control device/flap would not fully close but left a small opening about 20% of the full open diameter. See photo. I tried putting 12v to the connections to see if it would either fully open cold or close further, nothing happened. What would be the best way to test the electrical connection/ and the gate valve operation, Also on the temp control unit under the header tank for proper operation. What could happen if I were to fully plug the air valve pipe to engine, I guess poor warm-up and slower idle speed, but once warm is there any issues this might cause?

    Thanks!

Great video, Did your vacuum completely shut off after warm-up, or was there just a reduction in vacuum pressure? mine continues to draw vacuum even when fully warmed-up.

Thanks for the great videos dealing with the Mondial!
