My aav closes but still allows some air to pass as a small amount of vacuum can still be felt if I put my finger over the inlet, is this normal?

I thought AAV's were only for the US market?

No, all versions F models using CIS have AAV(s) -- it's the cold start air valve that is only used on US version non-Lambda CIS models.

Yes, that is normal, the slide door inside never completely seals shut. If you're trying to diagnose a high idle condition and suspect a vacuum leak, there are a few very common causes for the situation to check before digging into more technical possibilities.

Whatever you do, do NOT pay the price for the Ferrari part if you need it. There's a Porsche piece with nearly the exact same part number for significantly less. Do a search here, lots of discussion available.
