I know it might not be proper to post this question here but I read sometimes back one of the FCHATTERS mentioned he got a great deal on the GT. I was wondering if anyone knows if there is any available right now and are they going above or below MSRP?

I saw one last week at the local Ferrari dealer. They have it on consignment. Wide World of Cars in Spring Valley, New York, USA. 845-425-2600. Ask for Nick Seradakis. Tell him Tom Buckley with the Mondial says , "Hi".

I don't know the exact price. Approximately $450,000 ? It was silver. Good luck.

Although most dealers have stopped asking for outrageous premiums for these car due to the relative availability, I haven't seen one go below MSRP as yet, which is $440,000. My understanding is that a "new" one can be had for about list. eBay Motors has a few on offer.

And you're right, this is OT - ;)

Spoke to the owner of a two Porsche dealerships. He said that unless the color is a rare order, the cars are going for pretty much list price. That may even "soften" some as more cars get built. I think he said around 1500 would be built over a 3 year period. It is a beautiful car. Prettier in the flesh than in pics. Happy hunting.

Does anyone have any updated info on the pricing/availability? I stopped by the Porsche dealership in Baton Rouge, La today because they have a silver one in the showroom. The cocky salesman gave me some what I assume is BS about the cheapest you could find one for is ~$550,000 and so they were trying to sell theirs for $600k. He also said a 1200 car production and then stated the top speed was ~220.

So my question is, is he ignorant or blowing smoke up my a**, or am I the ignorant one?

People can ask whatever they want, and most likely if you're talking to the salesman, you're talking to the wrong person. If you want to buy a Carrera GT from a regular Porsche dealership, you should be talking to the owner.

As is often the case, you will know more than the salesman does. I find it quite unusual for a salesman to know the specs. They often do not even understand their own ordering guide. This thing is going to go south; if they are going to produce them for a total of three years. - Just wait until there are 50 + of them forsale in the D.R. (perhaps there already are that many ?). I am surprised they are even at MSRP. It is only a matter of time, when they will go below MSRP "at" the dealer. Remember the 996 TT ? They may screw the owners of the early cars, by updating the later production. It is a very nice car though. It just makes sense to wait. - It is "never" going to be a problem the next few years, to find a cherry (1000 mile) car.
