My dealer says an optioned car here is high CHF 400's to low 500's. VI is an out of range colour, CHF 12k through ad personem
I guess it is possible! The day after the factory visit I got an email inviting me to make an appointment with my dealer to go through the options list and submit a full spec
Actually a bit less than a SV..optioned out max about $490K..max a SV out (none made any further) was approx $507k
So, I have a price for a car with "normal" paint and a decent set of options - CHF 490k So VI would be just over 500k, similar for matt's
The description on EVO says the tranny is actually beginning to engage one gear before the other gear is fully disengaged. I think this is interesting, because there is an interview in the last EVO magazine with Adrian Newey and his answer to "what will be the next technology we'll see transferred from F1 to road cars?" is: "It's difficult to forecast. Things like paddleshift gearboxes have become popular, and a lot of that is being done with double-clutch systems. We have an instant shift that uses a single clutch, which is a much simpler system, although it is potentially dangerous as for a few microseconds you engage two gears at once. It relies on the control systems and the hydralics working perfectly, but we've got it to work and it's a way of achieving a very quick change in a much simpler, lighter way than a double clutch." Sounds like the business.
yep. in F1 you're not 'allowed' to have zero lag between shifts (athough they are in fact essentially seemless shifts) + single clutch systems being much lighter/simpler. so the advances come in in the form of refinement. tolerances in builds and operation timing must be spot on, but the results speak for themselves. RBR did some promo vids for their F1 car, and man oh man, that tiny gearbox is a thing of beauty. amazing hardware.
i don't care how it looks, or how fast it goes...as long as it sounds like this (or can be made to sound like this) OMFG !!!! one my most fave sounds ever... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=REOpV5XT8UU

I was told that the retractable engine vents open from the top as opposed to from the bottom like the Murcielago. Is this correct?
Who do I have to pay to get someone who's actually seen the vehicle in person, to draw a clear sketch of the design?
