Mine is only 137.5 average horsepower, thanks to my Hondas: Accord 160 hp Civic 115 hp sum 275 hp divide by 2 = 137.5 avg hp You don't have to include motorcycles.
Close: 330 '98 750iL intake dampers removed (326 stock, conser. estimate of 4 hp, on an M3 a similar removal results in 6 hp. You can definately hear the difference though) 282 '03 Range Rover 280 88.5 328GTS (you can see from my avatar she is a 328 ) 181 '82 633CSi (first car I bought myself, still have her!)
I didn't realize the 328 had almost 300 hp ?!?! Cool! I was thinking it was only about 240hp. I can't believe I got every one of them wrong! I also didn't realize your 7 series was a v12. What is an intake damper? Does it make the intake quieter?
(415+290+205+145)=1055/4=263.75 I think Doody's old garage was marvelous when he had the 550 and S55AMG. Whewh, talk about torque!
Let's see: 415: 996TT (when did you get this, BTW? Great car!) 290: LS 205: MCS (I guess you have the works pack?) 145: Duc Also, without the bike, you're at 303 avg hp. Pretty impressive, considering the MC-S.
Yes, the 3.2's make a factory claimed 280hp. They have mediocre torque though, IMO, but the gearing makes it more then adaquate. In fact with a modern CIS, you can get around 300hp (crank) out of them. Yes, MUCH quieter. It basically is a cylindrical tube that sits inside the intake box "in the wrong direction" that slows the air down as it comes into the engine. This makes startups very quiet, and the the intake sound almost non-existent. (see the pic I am attaching). Without it, my engine roars to life with a much more pleasant sound. There is still no exhaust sound (stock exhaust for now), but the engine sounds much better. I am sure this will aid in getting more air in at highway speeds. There are 2 of such tubes, one in each intake box, in the M73 engine. Most modern BMWs have at least one of these. I know that in a M3, they took out the tube (only one in M3's) and saw a small increase on the dyno, so it does work, and best of all, its free! It takes less then 15 min to do on most cars. (A little longer on the M73 since there are 2 and you have to avoid the wires that are everywhere). My 2 tubes sit on my shelve in my garage. Make sure to properly connect your M-airflow sensor, or your OBC will go crazy trying to manage your engine... Now the picture: This is the left bank intake I kinda diagramed. Orange is the filter. Air goes in on the bottom, and out on the top after going through the filter. Now the green is the damper tube. It redirects the air forward and back before going up and into the engine. (blue) Without the tube, the air goes straight up into the filter, without any round about travel. (purple) Image Unavailable, Please Login
Had it for a month or so, mentioned it on the board a few times. Slate grey. Put about 3700 miles on it already. Got it with 1200 or so. Great car. Not as good as a 993TT S, but gave up on that search. So this will have to do for now. Yeah the MCS has the JCW package on it. 145 is not Duc, but Accord EX grocery getter.
110 114 195 208 220 282 300 ---- 1429 average = 204.14 (I had left out some cars initially, hence the edit)
Honda civic: 120 Honda Accord: 140 Miata: 118 89Toyota truck:105 total: 483/4=121 ave. Can you imagine I have the guts to put that on F-Chat?
that's in my wife's garage, along with the Suburban. lets see, Pilot about 240. Suburban 275 without looking at the book, about 257 ave for my wife. She must be a horsepower junkie.
we should play weight ratio instead!!! That would give me a chance!!! LOL 280, 245, 160, 215 and 160 for the cars. Around 60-65hp at the crank for the 250CR. Then 100hp and 175 for each snowmobile. Then 12 for the Lawn tractor. And 6 for the snowblower.
