458 AVH, ESC, ABS, Manettino Errors

I had this on my 458. Does it revert to wet mode when this happens?

At first the dealer thought it was maybe bad wiring, and did a few fixes, but that didn't fix it. The failures really only happened when the car went over a bump or gravel, and we ended up figuring out that it was a faulty traction sensor. Not sure if that's what you have, but I would get an error code reader and see if you can connect it when the errors happen to narrow down the issue (this is what helped me, just kept the reader in the car waiting for the issue to happen and then plugged it in).

Solution :

By new battery and get Ferrari dealer to get rid of the codes. Full Stop.

Prevent happening again:

Always keep on battery conditioner.

Age of battery has nothing to do with it, its the condition of the battery that is important.

To jump start most likely a cell or 2 are stuffed.

Had exactly the same problem one week ago.... it's not the battery like many Ferrari workshops think.
It's an easy fix... change the brake light switch on the brake pedal and all the problems will be gone like magic
You have to remove two screws, then turn the switch about 90 dergrees pull it out and insert the new one. It's a
15 minute job and it'l cost you about 50$

This. Do not start replacing parts immediately. That error will come back if its not cleared. Get a lithium battery, clear the codes, check again. Only once you've ruled out battery start replacing other stuff. To be completely transparent. Mine was still acting up with a brand new battery. The voltage sensitivity was still too much and triggering false positives.

 

My car is fine however reading this post makes me wonder how you came to find the brake switch as a solution to your issues??

 

Because all this systems need the information from the brake switch, to put it simply and not to describe it in a too complex way.
I hade exactly the same issues and the fault code on the diagnosis was, among all other unimportant faults, the brake light switch.
Then to be on the safe side, I searched here and found another thread with exactly this issue.

them, and many many offers from several parts trader to buy the switch

 

I have had this problem and it seems it is the ABS module electronics that are faulty. I went through all the usual suspects, ABS sensors, brake switch, new battery etc. Even had all the wiring checked and everything was as it should be. I’ll get it back in a few days and fingers crossed this is the issue because after that I’m stumped.

Just got my 458, and got this exact issue showing up. I was panicking, but the symptoms you guys listed were exactly what I was seeing. If this is the issue, you just saved me a ulcer!
