What the hell? I just checked out that airliners.net link, and it now says you have to pay $25 minimum just to be a forum member?!

I fly out of John Wayne frequently, and live close by. There aren't too many houses in that immediate area, it is really all commercial. It is always interesting driving on the 405 and seeing the plane right above you landing..
You're in luck, I found the original site which has it, as well as tonnes of other awesome videos. http://www.alexisparkinn.com/aviation_videos.htm The specific video I was thinking of: http://www.alexisparkinn.com/photogallery/Videos/2006-2-15_Boeing_landings.wmv They're the Boeing cross-wind certification tests.
Kai Tak - what the HELL were engineer's and site planners thinking?! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LjRTy7yxAUs&mode=related&search=Kai%20Tak%20airport%20

Yeah. I was there 4 weeks ago. Our hotel was on the beach and all i had to do was walk to the other side of the hotel to have a perfect view out over the beach and runway I highly recomend you go there. It also a lovely place, the beaches are stunning and there is actually quite a lot to do there. ~Chris
What was the name of your hotel? Im very interested in going to St Maarten...was your hotel all inclusive?
I've been to serveral of the Caribbean islands, and I have to say, St. Martin is my favorite. It has also been the biggest that I've visited. There is a lot to see and do, and tons of shopping as well. It's really interested to have the island split between French and Dutch, and be able to actually see an immediate difference when crossing over to the other side (all street signs change, as does the language). I hope to go back some day.
