As I mentioned in my update post, I just got the Ferrari Heritage Original Color Certificate from Ferrari and it listed the GT4 as being actually Avorio Safari 20-Y-546 or Ivory. (It is not Bianco Polo Park white like I had originally thought.)

I have a copy of Autoweek's 1994 Escape Roads piece on a GT4 and it said Avorio is really "rare". When I Googled, I found a car on one of the typical car-specification sites that claims it was one of only six GT4s made in Avorio Safari. (The two others I've seen both had Boxer black contrasting paint.) Also both other Avorio cars were 1975s. Mine, while carrying a chassis number (12500) that should be in mid-1976 has all data (title, data plate, sales records, Ferrari Heritage certificate) pointing to a build date of June 6, 1975.

Anyone have any ideas a) If the one in six is correct? b)If any other Avorios were done without the Boxer scheme? c) If there are any other F-cars (308/328/Mondial/12 cyl cars) that came in this color.

It's so funny, because all I wanted when I was in high school was a red Ferrari, and now I have two F-cars, but both are seemingly extremely rare colors (Blu Medio and Avorio Safari.)

A good family friend had one in the '80's but she passed away. I don't know what happened to the car. Could have been either color but I remember it an ivory color - not bright white. I think it had a red / black interior but can't remember clearly. She was at one point the president of of the FOC Pacific Region before it became FCA for Nor Cal. Great lady!!!!

We had a white one back in 1975. But I can't find any of the paper work. But I don't think, and pretty sure it was a pure white, not the Ivory.
