The Dino on the right in the picture below is painted Azzurro Dino or what I call French Blue. This color was also ordered on a very few Ferrari Daytona coupes. Does anyone have any pictures of a Daytona wearing Azzurro Dino blue? Thanks
The Dino on the left is Blu Scuro.

I believe the correct term for the paint on the car on the right is Dino Blu, not Azzurro Dino.

Thanks for the tip about the RM Auction Daytona. That blue is nicer than the pale blue. Neat car with a wood steering wheel and no headrest seats!

Onno thanks for the input. I just used the description from the picture which noted the name and paint number as 359. The Blu Scuro was noted as paint number 357.

Onno here is a better representation of the Azzurro Blue. The color description in the first picture for both Dino models came from the owner of the Blu Scuro Dino.
Thanks to the Dino guys for the images borrowed here!

    Hi Onno,

Blu Dino and Azzurro Dino are two different colors, and the car on the right definitetely looks like Azzurro Dino to me.

As for the car on the left, I believe the correct term is Blu Sera, not Blu Scuro.

    Cheers,

    Julio

Julio by the pictures below Blu Sera does seem more accurate than the Blu Scuro when comparing the two color shades.

Kirk F. White's Daytona, that was lent to Yates and Gurney for the Cannonball, is commonly called "blue scurro", but if you look at it it is closer to a blu Dino.
Peter Singhof has a picture of it here:

Marcel has a picture of it here, in which looks a little darker:

Thanks for the correct color details Mike! The dealer must have liked that color since he ordered a pair of Daytona coupes for stock in that color. One was a September 1971 build; which was very shortly after the Cannonball Daytona build. The second Azzuro Dino Daytona was about 200 numbers later.

Here is the Cannonball Daytona coupe 14271 Gary found>
It wears the silver nose paint that was discontinued sometime before serial number 15,000.

I looked at a house in Florida a couple of years ago that had a large poster of the 512M on the garage wall. I commented about that to the listing agent, and she said the owner was a car nut and got the poster from his next door neighbor, who also was into cars. Turned out the neighbor was Kirk White. Too bad I didn't buy the house. Would have been neat listening to stories from White about the cars he's gone through over the years.

Very cool story there Don! I think Ron Spangler would also be an interesting neighbor if you lived next to the Prancing Horse Farm. His 550 Barchetta story would be a great place to start...
