    Boeing is famous for these time-lapse videos; I believe the first one they did was on the 747. It's amazing how much material they use to wrap the airplanes in the paint hangar!

    Why are is the rudder always painted before its put on the tail ??

    It's balanced before installation and the paint has to be on it before it's installed.

    The big question is how come the rudder was not painted in the final purple color to insure the balance does not get thrown off in final painting?
