I had mentioned it the 360/430 thread but living in Boulder I thought I post here as well. I was active a couple of years ago with a 355GTB that I loved and then I bought a Gallardo and didn't do much F car related. Last night I picked up F430 I bought from Derek at FOD. A really good experience and Derek maintains a sense of humor while trying to control things that are Italian.

I really like the F430 and I'm going to have to take back all of my comments of being hesitant about the F1 transmission. It works great. It lets you be as engaged as you want to be. I don't argue with it around town like I have in other semi-automatic cars.

The is light and very modern. Not even many quirks that I've found. Maybe there is something to this globalization thing. At any rate, love the car and hope to cross paths at upcoming Ferrari events.

From this morning on Flagstaff outside Boulder.

Geez, nothing like missing a few words here and there in my unintelligible first post. Too late to edit. Apologies for that. English actually is my first language.

Tom, great pictures, it was truly a pleasure working with you. I have a lot more fun selling a car to a person that is not only very enthusiastic about their purchase but is a true automobile enthusiast.
    Now about that radio...

Tom, I'd be a bit tongue-tied too if I'd just taken delivery of your beautiful car. Congratulations!

No problem with that. When Derek at FOD delivered the car, he explained that the speedometer only reads in Kilometers/hour so I'm safe to drive 100 most anywhere.

    Thanks.

I’m having a blast with the 430. The controls are light to the touch and for lack of better description the whole car just works well together. It’s the best balanced car I’ve ever had. I really like the Gallardo but it drives heavy and dead by comparison. The other pleasant surprise is how much I like the interior. If you’re paddling the F1 you tend to watch the zoomy yellow tach and indicators more than you would with a manual and the tach display is involving. No need to go to an aftermarket exhaust either.

In summary, all is well with the 430. No burps, shakes or bad habits and it’s a pleasure to drive. Crazy fun.

Was your car parked next to an Aston Martin at the St. Julien Hotel this past weekend?

No, but I did drink too much at the St. Julien this weekend after the CU Mizou hammering. There's a red 599 that lives right by there.
