Well. I guess things are not all perfect. After cleaning the blow by system I am now getting some fresh oil in the valley. Just a bit. Somethings not tight. Either the filter, mounting nuts or I disturbed the little banjo type fitting. Never know quite how tight to go. Tear the filter gasket (especially when reinstalling the same filter), strip on of the mounting studs. Arghh

Have you checked the thin oil hose that goes from the filter to the vacuum pump?

Also did you oil the filter gasket before installation? It's very common for these filters to leak when not properly tightened (which usually occur when the gasket is dry).

I reused the filter. It has only 250 miles through it. It was lubed but …. Should I just replace with new filter?

The little hose is possible. Looks wet over there. I may have disturbed it getting to the nut on that side. Can I just tighten that or does it need a new washer?

lastly, the mounting nuts… just don’t want to strip.

overall I’m gonna get my camera up in there and look around. Clean again and run the car and see if I get an answer before I over torque these items as I did the mirror.

Well. Tightened the filter. Tightened the mount. And still leaking. Maybe worse but drove more. I’m thinking the hose. Everything needs to come apart again though to get to it. May just put on new filter. New crush washers? Torque? Or just snug up good. Just looking for some advice. I’m tired of cleaning this out.

The hose has a mini argus fitting, so replacing it is a breeze (does not require crimping), as long as you buy the proper size (from cohline).

No point in over torquing the connectors and nuts. If you do not have crush washers, as a temporary measure just anneal them with a torch.
