I did a bit more tinkering on the carbs and it runs much better with less popping. Seems main improvement was backing out idle mixture screws from 3 to 5 turns out. Idle is still a bit erratic but ran well enough up to 4K rpm felt confident to run around the neighborhood.
Wow, it sounded great and pulled nicely up to 5k rpm in gears 1-3. Very reminiscent of 40 yrs ago when my dad first bought the car. My first Ferrari experience at about 10 with the PO driving to the bank and Dad behind not able to keep up.
Could not have been accomplished without help from Fchat. You guys are amazing

It did get a little warm -seemed about 220 - and pushed a little coolant thru overflow. I did have it little above the half mark in the overflow tank. I think I need to continue bleeding and prob just have air left to get out.
Idle was pretty erratic - after warmed up idle rose a bit and turned down the throttle cable adjustor. It would then almost die. Seems need more tinkering but major progress so far.
Current carb jetting from the shop that rebuilt:
    135 main / 160 air / 55 idle / 33 mm chokes / F35 emulsion / 35 pump

PS - for some reason my dad had the wheels changed to grey. Not sure if he had them powder coated but i think the stock alum looks much better. Plan to put back to OE.

I couldn’t get the carbs to stop popping below 60 on the idle jets. Went up to 70, then 65 and now 60. Even went to 57 and still had an issue. At 60, it runs really well.
