What's does it typically mean when you get backfiring/popping through the exhaust and not the carbs. At 4500 rpm and up my 308 is now popping/backfiring through the exhaust. It sounds like lighting a pack of firecrackers from 4500 rpm up.
I changes the coil wire on my car to try to remedy my problem that starts at @4400 rpm. At this point the car would no longet accelerate and start backfiring. After replace the coil wire, I can now accelerate all the way to redline, but I still am getting the firecrackers at the 4500 and above point in all gears.

Sounds like you're still getting misfires on some cylinders. Possibly what's normally considered a misfire (no combustion) or possibly poor combustion; either way, you're getting raw fuel in the exhaust which finds oxygen at the tailpipe. EITHER you've got way too much fuel on one or more holes or you're not burning it. Check plugs to find the affected cylinders. You may need to do a CHOP.... Accelerate at WOT down your street, then when you get into the misfire range, turn off the ignition & stop in front of your house (or wait for the engine to stop, then re-key the igniton so you can steer. Just be aware that your steering lock will kick in as soon as you turn off the ignition!). Pull the plugs and you'll find the cylinder(s) that are affected.
If you're going to try this, just keep that steering lock in mind!

Cars from different years are undoubtedly different, but in my 1975 the steering wheel doesn't lock until you pull out the key. Weird.
